Thanksgiving 2016

Here's how we spent our Thanksgiving this year...

On Thursday morning, we drove to Nick's parents house in Lumberton.

Wayne & his kids & Maryse & Kennin also came over
& we ate the delicious lunch that Pat prepared.

And took some silly selfies.

After lunch, we did a quick photo shoot to try & get some pictures for our Christmas cards. (And by photo shoot, I mean that I took some pictures of the kids in Nick's parents back yard & then passed my camera to Pat to take pictures of the four of us :)

Here are a few of my favorites...

And the winners for our Christmas cards were...

After our impromptu photo shoot, we headed back home so that Nick would be ready for Black Friday.

We were supposed to drive back to town on Saturday, the 26th to celebrate Thanksgiving & Hannah's & Larkin's birthdays with my side of the family but Brooke's kids ended up getting sick. So we did not celebrate Thanksgiving with the Hoosier side of the family this year after all, only with the Stricklands.

And that's how we spent our Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving 2014

Just as we've done for the past couple of years, we celebrated Thanksgiving by having lunch with Nick's side of the family & dinner with mine.

We started the day at Nick's parents' house where we ate lots of food

spent time with lots of family

and had lots of fun!

And we even had a little birthday party for this girl

who the kids were so excited to see!
It'd definitely been too long!

After lunch, this guy headed home so that he could rest up before an early Black Friday morning.

And the kids & I went to Kelci's house to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family.

Where we also had lots of food, family & fun but I apparently didn't take lots of pictures!

2nd Grade Craft Day

On Friday, November 21st, Addy had 2nd Grade Craft Day at school.

This craft day was a whole day event where the 2nd graders rotated between 6 classrooms & made a Thanksgiving craft in each one.

Addy's first rotation was making a small cinch bag out of felt, yarn & beads.

Her second rotation was drawing Indian symbols to tell a story.

Her story was... "By the fire, the woman and the fox ate fish"
(It was an F day!)

Her next rotation was making necklaces out of beads & colored noodles.

And then shaving crayons to make

candles!

Her next rotation was using a mortar & pestle to grind up spices

to make a spice pouch.

And Addy's final rotation was weaving strips of construction paper

into placemats.

She sure was proud of her finished product!

Lately...

Here's what we've been doing lately....
(And by lately, I mean like the last 3 or 4 months!)

We went to my cousin Amanda's wedding.
Alex & Chloe had a lot fun dancing.

But Alex was really disappointed that he didn't catch the bouquet :(

Alex had safety week at school. He learned all about what to do if he comes in contact with a stranger (run, yell & tell), how to call 911 & all about firefighters.

The kids and I went to Chloe's 3rd birthday party.

Addy really got into the Peppa Pig theme!

And Alex tried to catch a duck!
(There was a pond right outside of where the party was held.)

We got a new kitten. She is an all black cat & we named her Sasha.

Addy loves her!

We went to Minute Maid Park

where we participated in the Buddy Walk in honor of Addy's good friend Norah.

Alex learned about Thanksgiving at school and had a Thanksgiving party.

And Addy had a drum parade & a Thanksgiving feast at her school.

We celebrated Thanksgiving with Nick's family & Maryse came & ate with us. The kids were really excited to get to spend some time with their big sister!

And we also celebrated with my family at my sister Kelci's house.

I ran the 10th annual fun run at Addy's school. It's a 5K & this was my 3rd year to run in it. I finished with a time of 25:36, which is an 8:04 pace. I'm not sure what place I came in though because the chipped times were totally screwed up.

We went to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate Alex's friend Carson's 4th birthday.

And Addy had a blast rocking out on the guitar!
(I absolutely love this video!)

Addy had her Girl Scout Christmas PJ Party. The girls played games, made smores & watched a movie. It was lots of fun! Roasting marshmallows was Addy's favorite part!

Mom, Brooke & I went on the Ft. Bend Casa Home Tour where we saw lots of beautiful houses all decorated for Christmas.

And last weekend we celebrated Christmas at my Aunt Susan's house with my mom's side of the family. Love these people!

We've also had karate and crossfit and Girl Scout meetings and Girl Scout activities and school and volunteering and vet appointments (you wouldn't believe the shot schedule for a kitten!) and everything else!
