Happy Halloween

A few days before Halloween, just as we usually do, we went to the St. Catherine's pumpkin patch to pick out a few pumpkins to paint & carve.

And while we were there, we ran into Alex's preK teacher, Ms. Linda!

Later that afternoon, the Gladhills came over & we painted pumpkins in the driveway.

And later that night, the kids carved pumpkins in the kitchen.

Alex carved the word HULK into his pumpkin & painted it green.

And Addy chose to carve a typical jack-o-lantern. Because that's what you're SUPPOSED to carve in a pumpkin!

On Halloween night, we went to the Gladhills house & went trick or treating in their neighborhood.

Alex dressed up as Hulk.

And Addy dressed up as a tiger. Rrroar!

Taking a short break to check out & sample their loot!

It was a fun night of trick or treating with friends & the kids made out like bandits!

Happy Halloween (It's Only A Month Late!!)

Here's what our Halloween looked like...

We carved a few pumpkins.

We booed our friends.

(The kids had a blast doing this!)

We went to Zoo Boo.

Alex had a Halloween party at school. 

They had a costume parade around the parking lot & then trunk or treated. After the trunk or treating, they went inside & had Halloween snacks & goodies.

And of course we went trick or treating!

During his school party, Alex ripped his Woody costume. So we looked through all his dress up clothes in his closet & he decided to go trick or treating as a veterinarian. 

(While trick or treating, he made sure that everyone knew that he was a vet, not a doctor. And then people would say "I'm going to call you when my dog is sick" and Alex would say "Well, I'm not a real veterinarian, it's just a costume!" Lol!)

And Addy went as a princess that was riding a unicorn.

(Or according to Alex, she was a princess riding an alicorn, which apparently is what you call a unicorn that has wings.)

My kids were great trick or treaters! 

They would race to the door, ring the doorbell one million times & then say "trick or treat' in unison! (And they should be great at it because they made me practice in the car with them over & over again!)

They had lots of fun and made out like bandits!

Happy Halloween

As an adult, Halloween is not one of my favorite holidays. I don't like gore & guts or anything even remotely scary! But as the kids are getting older & actually starting to care about Halloween, well it makes me enjoy it again myself. In that kid friendly/dress up/candy/pumpkin carving kind of way! And so I'm happy to say that this year we had a great Halloween!

This was the first year that Addy really wanted to dress up for Halloween. And she was very specific about her costume. She wanted to be a princess with a pink dress & a gold circle crown. Not a tiara, but a CROWN! The day of Halloween though, she said that she wanted to be a clown. (I told her too bad, so sad, it's too late!)

Alex wanted to be Jake from Jake & the Neverland Pirates. For months he wanted to be Jake. He already had the dress up set, so I decided I'd just make him a vest. And then the week before Halloween, we were at Walmart & he saw a Handy Manny costume. So you guessed it, he decided then & there that he just had to be Handy Manny. So yes, I bought it & he dressed up as Handy Manny.

The kids had a lot of fun trick or treating this year. Alex really got into it. He quickly realized what it meant when the porch light was on & would yell "light's on" & take off running to the door. And when someone would say "Look, it's Handy Manny" he would take off his hat & say "Not really, it's just me, Alex!" Lol. Addy enjoyed herself too, running along with Alex, saying trick or treat & getting her candy.
