Happy 6th Birthday Alex

On March 11th, my BABY BOY turned 6 years old!

Here are some of the things that my big 6 year old likes...
(I like how he said he likes to make me & Nick buy him stuff! That could not be more true!!!)

A-Man was pretty lucky this year; he got to celebrate his 6th birthday, not once, not twice, but 3 times! (He says next year, let's make it 4!)

The weekend before his birthday,
we had his first party in Lumberton with all our family.

We ate pizza

and played outside.

And then it was time for the birthday festivities!

We all sang Happy Birthday to Alex & ate cookie cake.

He opened his presents.

And then the kids played

Pin the Eye on the Monster

and made paper monsters.

They all turned out so cute!

On Alex's actual birthday, Nick was out of town for work so the kids & I celebrated, just the 3 of us.
Alex opened his presents from us in the morning & then he got to plan what we would do for the rest of the day.

Which included going to the movies to see the Spongebob movie & then going to Chuck E Cheese.

And the weekend after his birthday, Alex had his last party, which was a friends party at an indoor playground called Stomping Grounds.

Lots of friends from school came.

And even his teacher made an appearance!

He had such a great time & was totally exhausted after the party from playing so hard!

Lately...

Here's what we've been doing lately...

Addy's Girl Scout troop earned their Philanthropy badge by going to a church, picking the names of 2 girls off their angel tree & then going to Target & buying Christmas gifts for those girls. They had a budget of $100 (which was money they had earned by selling magazines, nuts & chocolates in the fall) to buy the gifts & spent it all! Super proud of these girls!

We went on a Girl Scout hayride around the neighborhood to see Christmas lights.

We went to Cole's Ninja Turtle birthday party

at Stomping Grounds

and Claire's birthday party at Main Event

where the kids played laser tag

and bowled.

Addy had such a great time with her friends!

Nick & I went to the Texans game.

The Texans won so we got to see the running of the flags several times!

We went to the playground

and a Christmas party

and the kids had Polar Express Day

and their school Christmas parties.

The weather has been cold & wet & so besides that, we've been staying in our pjs cuddled up by the fire!

Lately...

I haven't done a lately post in awhile, so here's what we've been doing for the last couple of months...

Alex celebrated many firsts at school...

His first school Valentine's Day party.

His first 100th Day of School.
(Posing with the poster I helped him make. It has 100 stars on it.)

His first Western Day.

And his first Moms & Muffins Day.

Addy attended 4 Girl Scout meetings,
a GS field trip to the bank,

a service project where she made cat toys & dog blankets for the Houston Humane Society

and a troop activity where she made a sit upon

and a poncho for camp.

We celebrated Nick's 38th birthday (with pizza & cookie cake & cheesecake... or with lots of food!)

St. Patrick's Day.

Down Syndrome Awareness Day

and Mother's Day!

We've been on lots of walks.

Which usually end up at the playground!

We went to Lone Star Bounce.

and to Orange Leaf

and swimming.

Well, the kids went swimming, the water is still too cold for me to get in!

I went to the Maroon 5 concert at the Rodeo

And Nick & I went to the Foreigner concert at the Woodlands.

Nick went to a practice round of the Masters with his friends!

And I went to a painting party with my mom & sisters.

Addy buried a time capsule (that was full of toys & washed up a week later when it rained.)

And Alex played dress up.

Which is one of his favorite things to do!

And that's what we've been doing.
