Lately...

Here's what we've been doing lately...

We went to Build A Bear for our end of the year Girl Scout party.

And I made these certificates for the girls
for completing their first year of Daisies.

We went to Clark's 4th birthday party.

Addy had her last day of school.

Alex made this out of blocks.
It reads right to left... I love mommy (that's a picture of me!)

We've been playing at the playground.
We try to go as early as possible because it's already so hot!

We've been swimming

A LOT!

The kids have been taking swimming lessons. They're doing great!

We bought an inflatable water slide. And it's awesome!

And apparently, so is the box it came in, lol!

Our good friends came in town & Alex had a great time getting to play with his buddy again.

I finally found time to get my hair highlighted again!

We went bowling with some of our Girl Scout friends
& all the kids got trophies.

Addy had an introductory piano lesson.
She should start weekly lessons in late July.

And last weekend we celebrated Addy's 7th birthday & Father's Day!
(Another post to follow on those soon.)

The Big Show

June 6th was Addy's last day of dance for the semester.

Instead of having a big recital, The Little Gym has what they call  "The Big Show." Each class puts on an end of the year performance but it is there in The Little Gym at their regular class time. Which is perfect for Addy. (I specifically asked about recitals when I called around looking for a dance class for her. I didn't want to put her in a super serious class with an over the top recital & have it be too overwhelming for her.)

Addy had to 'warm up' a little before leaving for class.

Upon arriving, Addy & the other girls went into the dance room to warm up while myself, Alex (Nick missed it because he was out of town for work) and the other parents went into the gym to await the show.

Then it was time for "The Big Show" to start.
First the girls performed their tap routine.

Twice!

And then their ballet routine.

Then they showed off their skills in several gymnastics areas.
First on the uneven bars.

Then backflips

and then the balance beam.

When they were done with everything, they had a little time left over for free play in the gym.

Addy got back on the balance beam & was able to walk the whole thing without a spotter.

Alex got a turn too.

Then it was time for the award ceremony. Each girl got an award

and a medal.

And so did the class mascot!

Here is Addy's whole dance class!

And her is Addy with her amazing teacher Ms. Brittany.

I am so proud of Addy! She did amazing! She loves taking dance & is looking forward to the fall when class starts again.

Addy's Last Baseball Game

Addy's last baseball game for the spring season was June 1st.

The game was only one inning.
Addy's team, the Cardinals, fielded in the top of the inning.

And batted in the bottom.

As always, Addy had fun & did awesome!

After all the kids got a chance to bat, the game was over & it was time for the closing ceremony. All the parents & spectators put their hands together & made a tunnel. Then the DJ announced the players one at a time. They got to run through the tunnel & then they got a trophy & special t shirt.

It's Addy's turn.

Here she is running through the tunnel!

And here she is getting her trophy. (Which she is super proud of! She tells me all the time "I played baseball & I got a trophy.")

And here's her Dream Team t shirt.

There were still a few players left when Addy was done so she joined the parents in making the tunnel.

I have to say that I am a little sad to see this first season of the Dream Team come to a close. It really is such a fabulous league & we are blessed that Addy got to be a part of it. She had a lot of fun playing baseball & we are already looking forward to next spring when she will play again!
