Insta-Friday

 This week we had a mini vacation in Beaumont before our real vacation to Florida next week. We did lots of fun stuff & I have lots of pictures from my phone to show you on this Insta-Friday!

Saturday -Addy making Bailey, aka Bawee, aka Gilbert pose for a picture. She held his head to look at the camera & said "Ok Gilbert, say cheese!" That poor cat!

Addy likes to play in her room because she can shut the door & trap Bailey inside play with Bailey. And Alex likes to play in Addy's room, well, because Addy likes to play in her room. I went to go check on the kids & found this.... A sweet little boy sitting in Addy's bed reading a book to Diego, Pablo & Uniqua.

On Sunday we went swimming. Addy was a scary monster... Booga Booga Boo!

 

We stayed for a couple of hours, but she didn't want to leave :(

Neither did he!!!

Nick had to be in training for work Monday thu Friday so I packed up the kids & we went to Beaumont for the week. This time we brought Bailey with us.

On Tuesday, CiCi & I brought Addy, Alex, Hannah & Peyton to the Piccadilly Circus at the Beaumont Civic Center. They were excited to go & raced to the entrance.

There were some loud booms & bangs during the circus & they scared Alex. He crawled up in Hannah's lap for a little bit, and then in mine, & then in CiCi's.

The circus was OK, not great, but not horrible either. Some of the acts were the motorcycle cage riders, a couple clown acts, a cute little horsey act & a girl in a cage that turned into a white tiger! Still not sure how they did that!

Wednesday we met Brooke, Boone, Charlie & Hannah at Chuck E Cheese.

When we cashed in the tickets, all Alex wanted was 3 boxes of pink Nerds. He started eating them one at a time, but Hannah showed him the way cool people eat Nerds!

I took the kids & Hannah to Rogers Park for a little while. It was really hot so we didn't stay that long.

Wednesday night, I met Kelli, one of my BFFs, at Pei Wei for dinner. It was so great to see her, I don't think we've gotten together in about 6 months which is WAY TOO LONG!

Then we went over to Winestyles & had a glass of a yummy moscato wine.

On Thursday, we met Brooke & her kiddos & Hannah again at the Beaumont Library for storytime. Alex sat by Hannah & listened to the stories & sang along.

Addy, she was not as interested in storytime. But she did enjoy making the monkey craft.

After storytime, I took the kids to Toys R Us to look at presents for Addy's birthday. We weren't even there for a whole minute before Alex was loaded down with toys that he wanted... A hula hoop, a pool noodle & a Madagascar 3 stuffed zebra.

Friday, June 15th was Addy's 6th birthday! I had to go back home to meet up with Nick & get everything packed up for Florida. So I left the kids with MawMaw & Granddaddy for the night. Addy got to have one of her presents (she'll open the rest when we get back from Florida), a Caillou doll. Sadly, Caillou bumped his knees & Addy had to make sure he was ok.

Alex also got a toy for Addy's birthday, a Chuggington train set.

We're leaving for Florida on Sunday so stay tuned for some great photos next week!!!

Spring Fun

Considering that it's already 2 weeks into summer, I figured I better get this blogpost finished.
We did lots of fun stuff this spring...

We played with sidewalk chalk.

Alex wrote these numbers

and these letters. Pretty impressive for a 3 year old I think!

And Addy wrote this... Arty Party!

We played in the sprinkler

and on the swinget.

We rode the baby roller coaster

and played soccer in the backyard.

Addy liked to be the goalie!

We worked puzzles

and played with cars.

We went to Chuck E. Cheese.

That's right, I beat the Flaming Finger AGAIN!

We blew bubbles.

and played with water balloons.

We ate ice cream cones... you've got to eat the bottom first!

We played in the rain

and jumped in muddy puddles.

And we rode bikes.

I just love hanging out with these 2 kiddos! They make for some really fun & interesting days!

Insta-Friday

I've decided to start doing a weekly blogpost called Insta-Friday. The idea comes from another blog called Life Rearranged.

Basically the concept is to only post pictures that were taken this week on my phone. Some of these I have posted on Instagram & others I have not. I like this idea because I take A LOT of pictures on my phone & this is an easy way for me to make sure I get them all posted on here.

So here you are, our life this week via Robin's iPhone...

Day 1 of Instagram a Day June: Yellow...  While at my mom's on Saturday, I took this picture of a sunflower growing in her backyard. Isn't it beautiful! And she didn't even plant it, it grew from birdseeds!

Guess what AWESOME song I heard on 90s on 9 on Saturday... That's right... Ice Ice Baby by Mr. Vanilla Ice himself!

I could sing it to you if you really want me to because I remember all the words. You know you do too, lol!... Alright, stop, colloborate & listen, Ice is back with a brand new invention!

Sunday evening I walked in on this... Nick & the kids making cupcakes. And not just regular cupcakes, but Funfetti cupcakes with Hershey kisses in them. Oh were they good!

Day 4: Vegetables... My lunch before & after. I cut up a zucchini, a few tomatoes (that came from my mom's garden) & some spinach. I sauteed them in olive oil and then I added in some sliced grilled chicken, hot pepper garlic sauce & a little pasta sauce. I put that over sliced french bread, sprinkled it with Parmesan cheese & baked it in the oven for a couple minutes to make it crispy. Delicious!!

Wednesday we were playing in the sprinkler in the backyard. Addy grabbed the baby pool & dragged it over to the swingset. And made herself a water slide! GENIUS!

My sweet boy ran up to me & said "Look mommy, I picked you a unicorn flower!" It's really a weed, but whatever, it was the most beautiful weed in the world to me!

Alex is such a smartie. Just like Addy, he loves the alphabet. Here he is writing it with sidewalk chalk.

Day 6: The letter J... Pretty much at any time of the day, you can walk into my house & find letters all over the ground. Fabric, foam, paper, plastic... We have them all!

Thursday morning, I started running on the treadmill but I couldn't hear the TV. So I stopped it & slid off the back. But as I was slidding off, my foot slid under the back cover & ripped the skin off. Here's my bleeping foot... (Bleeping is what Alex calls bleeding.) And this bleeping foot bleeping HURT!

You know how you blow on your food when it's too hot... Well this is the way that Alex does it. He uses a straw, lol.

We went to the pool on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & again on Thursday.

We were at the pool on Thursday for literally like 5 minutes before it thundered. The lifeguards made everyone get out of the pool for 20 minutes. So we went to the playground by the pool to wait it out. Right before the 20 minutes were up, it thundered again so we ended up going home instead of swimming :(
